On Wednesday 13th September, the Provincial Prior, Sub-Prior, Vice-Chancellor and Marshal, visited the Church of St. James the Great at East Malling. With a view to using it as the new venue for our annual Church Service. We found the church to be very suitable to our needs in respect of size, seating, parking, refreshments and all our other aspects. Also the Vicar, Father Nick Williams, was very amenable to our requirements, which did not clash in any way.

It is envisaged that the service will take place on the Third Sunday in April annually, starting on 15th April 2018. Thereby, avoiding past conflicts with Easter and Mothering Sunday.

Saint James the Great Cof E Church, Church Walk, New Road, East Malling, Kent, ME19 6AH St James the Great is a vibrant, inclusive church in a diverse community in East Malling and is a part of a benefice of churches including Wateringbury and Teston. We hope our website provides some useful information about who we are and what we do.

We believe we need to be there for the people who live in this parish at all times: we baptize new-born babies; we bury the dead; we celebrate with joy at weddings; we comfort people in grief. And, of course, we are there for people in all the more mundane aspects of life in-between: we want to help show God's love for all people at all times of life.

If you haven't been to our church or even any church before, please come and visit. You may be surprised at what you find: our members are young and old, come from all sorts of social backgrounds and our services celebrate God's glory with a strong musical tradition.

We believe our Church is a centre of the community and the building houses a number of other activities including a weekly choral society, The East Malling Singers. We use the building for meetings and rehearsals for a variety of other groups too.

The Provincial Prior is pleased to announce this new initiative which will provide us all with a more secure future for this enjoyable event.

Yours in the Bonds of the Order

Terry Tanner
Provincial Sub-Prior
